MAESTRO KURT MASUR RETURNS TO THE PODIUM February 7, 2002 Maestro Kurt Masur returns to the podium for the first time after his surgery last fall to conduct performances of Act II and other selections from Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde," February 7, 9, 12 and 14, 2002. Kurt Masur leads the New York Philharmonic in music form Wagner's monumental opera, "Tristan und Isolde," including the Prelude to Act I, all of Act II and the Act III Prelude and Liebestod, on Thursday, February 7, Saturday, February 9, Tuesday, February 12, and Thursday, February 14, 2002. The soloists will be Deborah Voigt as Isolde; and making their Philharmonic subscription debuts, Stig Anderson as Tristan, Violeta Urmana as Brangaene, Theo Adam as King Marke and Thomas Studebaker as Melot. |
