ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE IN THE US
February 24-March 7, 2005
The Orchestre National de France will travel to the United States in February-March 2005 for a series of concerts under the baton of Kurt Masur. Concerts will be presented February 24-26 in the New York area, including Carnegie Hall. On February 27th Maestro Masur -- a long-time favorite both in Boston and at Tanglewood -- will lead the ONF in concert at Boston's Symphony Hall. The program for all of these concerts will feature works by Debussy, Rimsky-Korsakov, and the Ravel Piano Concerto with Jean-Yves Thibaudet as soloist. From March 1-7, the orchestra will travel to Atlanta and several cities in Florida. An alternate program featuring Franck: Symphony in D minor, Ravel: La Valse, as well as the Piano Concerto, will be presented at several of the concerts. Calendar
ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE IN AUSTRIA AND GERMANY
February 12-16, 2005
From February 12-16, 2005, Kurt Masur and the Orchestre National de France will tour Austria and Germany. Concerts will be presented in Köln, Baden-Baden, Bregenz, Vienna, and Berlin. The various programs will inculde works by Dukas, Rimsky-Korsakov, Debussy, Mozart, Bruckner, and Ravel, including the Piano Concerto with soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Calendar
ORCHESTRE NATIONAL DE FRANCE AT LA SCALA
December 11, 2004
On December 11, 2004, Kurt Masur and the Orchestre National de France will perform at La Scala in Milano for one concert as part of the re-opening festivities of the prestigious opera house. The program will feature Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5, and the Sibelius Violin Concerto, with Sergey Khatchatryan as soloist. Calendar
LONDON PHILHARMONIC IN GERMANY
October 3-13, 2004
Kurt Masur and the London Philharmonic will visit Germany in an 11-day, 10-city tour from October 3 until October 13. Two different programs will be presented: one featuring Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 3 and Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5, the other featuring Brahms: Symphony No. 3 and Dvorak: Sympony No. 9. The cities to be visited are: Nürnberg, Hannover, Köln, Stutgart, Frankfurt, Bielefeld, Mannheim, Düsseldorf, Essen, and Hamburg. Calendar
